Living Free From Expectations
-
It’s good to want things from life. A strong desire for specific experiences, circumstances, and people in our reality is healthy and invigorating.
But true freedom is found when we let go of our expectations and live moment to moment without anticipation. When we let go of the need to have specific outcomes we are able to live fully in the breath of inspiration.
It’s unclear why this simple approach to life is difficult for us. Perhaps our egos have become so strong over the centuries that we simply cannot relinquish the illusion of control.
I believe we all have the power to guide and direct the energy of source, and to manifest the life we choose. But at the very same time I believe this power is small when compared to the divine universal mind.
The part we play in the creation of our own reality may seem huge to us, but in truth it could be small indeed. Our brains process billions of bits of data per second but we are aware only of a couple thousand bits.
It’s clear our grasp of reality is tiny. And by clinging to absolute expectations we can seriously limit our ability to draw from the infinite goodness that wants to bless us.
A wonderful exercise is to get up, meditate, and then embrace an entire day without concern for what happens next. You can do your morning affirmations and visualizations, but then just let go and be happy in the present, willing to accept whatever life brings you.
Imagine the power of learning to live in this manner on a continuous basis! Life would become a fresh experience filled with surprises and incredible new adventures.
It feels somewhat abnormal at first to let go of expectations and the need for specific results. But after a time it becomes very natural, comfortable, and liberating. It’s possible that living in this manner is closer to the natural human state.
If nothing else it is definitely a worthwhile and empowering exercise to try a few times per week.

What has been your experience in doing this? Being less specfic on what you want to manifest, if I understand your article correctly.
Thank you,

Sorry – I pressed the return key too soon. I have always been told to be very specific about WHAT I want but not the route by which it can arrive. I thought that without specific goals and a specific desination in mind I would not be able to “arrive” where I wanted to be in life. I thought I had to be open to the universe organising the How and the When but that I had to ask for the What. Any other opinions on this ??

Dear Janet,
Have your goals in mind, but how your goals will manifest thats the secret with the universe. Universe have its own plans to manifest your intentions but when you yourself try to manifest using your own way and always keep on thinking on how it will manifest, creates problems, it collides with the universe and hence disturbing the rhythm. Remember at each and every moment you exchange energy with the universe.
Learn from nature, they are as it is as they should be. They are at harmony and believe in the universal force.
U too, believe in that force and be always happy as if your goals will manifest someday somehow.
Best of luck.
