Physical Practice Of Spirituality

Many spiritual people relegate the physical, and the body, to a “lower” plane. This, I believe, comes mostly from the dark ages traditions that try to scare people into being ashamed of themselves and giving away their power.
In truth, our bodies are part of self. Thus, our physical beings are every bit as sacred and spiritual as any other part of our consciousness.
And I believe that physical practices that honor the body are very important for overall spiritual wellbeing. Such methods as chakra meditation, yoga, simple stretching and exercise, and eft are all very powerful for releasing toxic energy and awakening the self.
You should be good to your body, and treat it like a partner. In some ways it might help to think of your physical self as a distinct individual; clearly their can be no real separation, this is only a visualization technique to help you see your body in a higher perspective.
Our bodies are a gift. They are part of the same vibrating essence that all life and thought has emerged from, and they should never be treated as lowly or unworthy in any way.
Life is much more enjoyable when we embrace our physical forms and bring them into our daily spiritual practice.
