Your Perfect Past
-
The past can be a haunting energy for many people. Indeed my past created struggle and pain for quite a while after the point in space-time that I was led to a shift in conscious intent.
However our past is only a memory, a thought, an illusion. It exists ONLY in the mind and only when we allow it to do so.
Even when other people are involved and these folks choose to remind us of a painful event, the past remains insubstantial unless we call it into being. A troubling past should be forgiven and released so one can get about the business of being here and now.
Each new moment contains the potential for complete redemption and a brand new beginning!
A good way to allow this process is to allow the painful image of past events to surface. Sit quietly with them for several moments, not altering the memory in any way and honestly letting it flow into your mind with every embarrassing, hurtful detail intact.
After a minute or two decide firmly to get over it. Forgive the memory, send yourself love and the permission to let go, and then release the image of your past.
You can decide right now to let go of any image and event from the past. This intention will immediately set things right if you allow this to be.
Once you forgive a past memory immerse yourself in the truth of this present moment. In so doing you’ll see clearly that only right now is real, and the past is an illusion.
You can even reframe your past if you like. After remembering and forgiving the details of any past occasion, simply decide to rewrite your history and create an empowering new version of events!
By reframing your past, or altering the picture of the event, you can literally program a new memory that supports the story you choose for your life.
This content could be turned into a very lengthy commentary. We could talk about denial vs. healthy reconfiguring, and we could examine the reality that only one, everlasting NOW exists and all moment past and future are only thought patterns in our mind.
But this topic and practice are best kept simple. Like any healing methodology, overthinking will create more harm than good.
You have the power to release anything form your past that bothers you. And you can, at will, choose to re-imagine the past so that your memories serve the highest good and promote the one you choose to be now.
