The Book Of Secrets By Deepak Chopra
-
The Book Of Secrets by Deepak Chopra is without a doubt one of the very best examples of modern spiritual wisdom. Chopra brings a blend of deeply spiritual insights and valid scientific research into this wonderful journey, satisfying both the reader’s intellectual and intuitive cravings in the process.
This is absolutely one of the best books in my personal library.
The premise of this material is simple: You are, by nature, a book of secrets and the spiritual path is the process of unlocking each of these secrets in turn.
At the start of the book, Chopra equates spirituality with the desire to find the most precious of all pearls. Using oyster divers as the example, he paints a vivid picture of how most people live only on the surface of life, or perhaps submerge into the shallow water. The greatest truths and most wonderful joys, however, are found in the deeper waters; thus to truly uncover the wonder of self and live in genuine bliss one must be willing to seek deep within.
Over the course of the chapters to follow, Chopra discusses 15 core secrets every human being has the potential to discover and embody. The central theme is unity, or the “one reality”.
The author is a medical doctor by profession, therefore throughout the material the reader is treated to legitimate scientific discoveries that support spiritual ideals. One of my favorite sections of the book involves a fascinating exploration of the cells in our body and how these tiny units of consciousness live each moment through the highest spiritual wisdom.
Indeed, as Chopra points out, if only we would follow the clear example of our cells we would each exist in the highest realm of spiritual enlightenment and knowing. I revisit this portion of The Book Of Secrets regularly and I can say quite honestly this powerful analogy has changed my life.
And this is one of many compelling insights you’ll encounter as you travel the pages (or audio chapters) of this book. This content literally takes you into a new dimension; more than a book, it’s a process of discovery or personal pilgrimage.
I personally preferred the experience of The Audio Book Of Secrets, which is read by Chopra himself. The author’s soothing voice and thick accent made the content even more enjoyable, and I carry this file on my MP3 player as a favorite.
Without revealing further specifics, and thereby detracting from the process of discovery, I strongly recommend this book or audio program for anyone interested in greater spiritual understanding. You’ll find yourself returning to this material again and again, as the insights and observations within represent a lifetime of growth and expansion.
